Delhi Launches Anti-Narcotics Task Force for Drug-Free Future

In a decisive move against drug trafficking in Delhi, LG Taranjit Singh Sandhu oversaw the destruction of approximately 1,700 kilograms of seized narcotic substances, valued at Rs 72 crore internationally. This event, he declared, symbolizes both a victory of law over criminality and hope over addiction.

The new initiative includes the approval of Delhi's first dedicated Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) police station, part of a broader goal to make the city drug-free by 2027, as announced by Sandhu. He emphasized that this is about more than just eliminating seized drugs; it's about dismantling a threatening ecosystem.

Under the national mission led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Delhi Police aims to weaken the financial network of drug traffickers through enforcement actions and financial investigations. Additionally, preventive campaigns like 'Nasha Not Cool' are being reinforced to educate the public.
