Authorities have apprehended three individuals accused of illegally trading deer antlers, as confirmed by police on Tuesday. The Organized Crime Wing acted on credible intelligence, leading to a successful operation in Chikkabanavara.
Officers from the Crime Wing and Chikkabanavara Police Station conducted a raid, confiscating one deer antler from the suspects. During interrogation, the individuals confessed, admitting they aimed to make substantial profits from the illegal trade.
The seized antler, valued at ten lakh rupees, has intensified attention on the illegal wildlife market. The suspects have been presented in court, with one receiving seven days of police custody, while the others remain in judicial custody. Investigations continue as authorities delve deeper into this illegal activity.
