Shimla police have made significant strides in their battle against inter-state drug trafficking, arresting two key suppliers during operations on Wednesday. According to Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Abhishek Dhiman, the detainees are Gurmeet, known as Billa, from Faridkot and Shiv Shankar from Moradabad.
The arrests were made in Ludhiana and Chandigarh, respectively, showcasing the widespread nature of drug networks operating across states. These developments have come as authorities intensified their efforts against the distribution of chitta, a form of adulterated heroin.
The breakthrough follows further investigations after several individuals were previously arrested in Shimla district with the banned substance. Police say the latest apprehensions provide critical insights into the larger trafficking chain.
