In a significant legal development, a fast-track MP/MLA court in Bhadohi district, Uttar Pradesh, has convicted former legislator Vijay Mishra along with his family members in connection with a six-year-old criminal case. This verdict brings closure to a case that has gripped the region since it was initially registered in 2020.

Assistant District Government Counsel Pravesh Tiwari confirmed the conviction of Mishra, his wife Ram Lali Mishra, their son Vishnu Mishra, and daughter-in-law Rupa Mishra. The charges included serious offenses under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Information Technology Act. These involved identity theft and various fraudulent activities.

The court proceedings saw Vijay Mishra and his son participating via video conferencing from different jails, while Ram Lali and Rupa Mishra were present in court. Following the conviction, bail for Ram Lali and Rupa was revoked, and they were taken into custody as the court reserved its decision on sentencing.
