Teacher Arrested in Shocking Delhi School Assault Case

A female teacher from a private school in Delhi's Janakpuri was arrested following allegations of involvement in the sexual assault of a three-year-old student by a 57-year-old school caretaker. The arrest took place after the victim's mother filed a complaint, leading to the rapid detention of the caretaker.

The complaint, lodged on May 1, reported the incident occurred on April 30 during school hours when the child allegedly suffered an assault in an isolated area within the school premises. The situation unraveled as the child expressed discomfort on returning home, prompting her mother to investigate further.

Despite the expedient initial arrest of the caretaker, the case experienced controversy after a city court granted him bail on May 7, despite opposition from the prosecution. The police intend to appeal the bail decision and maintain the investigation was conducted professionally, countering accusations of delay in proceedings by protestors, including political figures.
