Declared free of Maoist armed presence as of March 31, the state has since ramped up search operations in the Bastar region, incorporating seven districts, including Kanker. This effort is aimed at uncovering Maoist-concealed cash, arms, and explosives, according to security officials.
The operations conducted from April 1 to May 14 involved personnel from multiple entities including the district police, District Reserve Guard, Bastar Fighters, and Border Security Force, as stated by Kanker Superintendent of Police Nikhil Rakhecha.
