The Department of Food Supplies and Consumer Affairs in Delhi has launched a streamlined process for ration card applications through the e-District portal. This move, initiated on Friday, allows residents to submit new applications and add family members to existing ones.

Officials urge applicants to check the 'pending for submission' section on their e-District login. More than 73 lakh beneficiaries across Delhi's fair price shops will see an impact, with the government aiming to issue 2 lakh fresh ration cards by the end of the year.

This initiative is part of a broader effort to clear backlogs and ensure all submissions are accompanied by updated income certifications, enhancing the efficiency and reach of the public distribution system.
