In a firm stance against corruption, West Bengal's newly appointed Food and Supplies Minister, Ashok Kirtania, has committed to eradicating graft within the department. Echoing sentiments shared by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Kirtania assured the public of transparency and vowed not to indulge in or allow any corrupt activities.
Kirtania's declaration came during his first visit to the department's headquarters as part of the BJP government. With explicit backing from Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, the minister pledged to initiate prompt actions against those involved in irregularities during the previous government, led by Mamata Banerjee.
Highlighting his dedication to clean governance, Kirtania promised significant improvements in ration distribution by June. His assurance comes after former minister Jyotipriya Mallick's arrest concerning alleged distribution scams. Kirtania, a self-proclaimed 'man of the soil,' vowed to leave no room for corruption to tarnish the system.
