Nine foreign nationals have been deported from Goa this month due to overstaying their visas, officials reported. The deportees include five Ugandans, three Russians, and one Nigerian. Proposals to blacklist them are under consideration.

The Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) confirmed that a recent operation identified seven more overstayers across the North Goa coastal area. These individuals include five Russians, one Ukrainian, and one South African. Legal proceedings have been initiated against them.

Further emphasizing the issue, the FRRO noted that in 2025, a total of 120 foreign nationals, including 29 from Bangladesh, were deported from Goa for similar reasons.
