The Supreme Court has called on Delhi Police to expedite their investigation into a shocking incident in which a woman advocate was allegedly attacked by her husband. The high court, comprised of Chief Justice Surya Kant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi, stressed that the investigation must be carried out with fairness and impartiality.

This move follows allegations against the victim's husband, who allegedly stabbed her in Sonia Vihar on April 22. The court also ensured that the victim and her children receive adequate protection as the probe continues. Furthermore, it mandated the Delhi government to provide educational and financial support to the victim's daughters.

The court took action after advocate Sneha Kalita wrote to the Chief Justice seeking intervention. The investigation is to be overseen by a senior police officer, while the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) has been instructed to release interim financial assistance to the victim.
