A violent clash erupted in Bihar's Purnea district on Saturday, leaving at least seven people and several security personnel injured, according to local police reports.
The confrontation, sparked by a land dispute, occurred in the Andi Tola locality within Dhamdaha police station's jurisdiction. Villagers reportedly bound the hands and legs of two individuals and beat them with blunt objects. Purnea Superintendent of Police, Sweety Sahrawat, confirmed the incident and stated both were rescued and hospitalized.
During the fracas, miscreants attacked security personnel and vandalized police vehicles, resulting in five additional villagers sustaining injuries. While initial investigations suggest a land dispute triggered the violence, the case is being explored from multiple angles. Police have formed several teams to apprehend the culprits. Authorities have restored order, deploying numerous security personnel to stabilize the area.
