In a significant crackdown on narcotics, the Jharkhand Police announced the seizure of drugs worth approximately Rs 50.30 lakh, spanning operations in three districts. The extensive operation led to the arrest of eight individuals, including two natives from West Bengal.
In Deoghar, authorities apprehended four suspects with brown sugar valued at Rs 20.4 lakh, as confirmed by the Superintendent of Police, Praveen Pushkar. The police also confiscated cash, mobile phones, and vehicles during the operation.
Similar operations in Hazaribag and Chatra districts led to further arrests and seizures, including brown sugar and opium. Law enforcement continues to investigate under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, signaling a stringent stance against drug distribution in the region.
