In a significant crackdown on crime, police in Bihar have successfully arrested three notorious criminals following brief encounters in Patna and Siwan districts, officials confirmed on Monday.
The arrests included Sandeep, also known as Badal, and Ankit Singh. Acting on a tip-off, Patna police initiated a search operation in the Agamkuan locality, where Sandeep and his unidentified associate were apprehended after an exchange of gunfire. According to Patna's Senior Superintendent of Police Kartikeya Sharma, Sandeep opened fire upon seeing the police but was eventually subdued. He is now undergoing treatment for bullet injuries at a government hospital.
In another incident in Siwan's Mairwa locality, police detained Ankit Singh, a suspect in several jewelry store robberies. Siwan police reported that Ankit attempted to flee and fired at the officers but was captured following a retaliatory exchange. Ankit also sustained a leg injury and is being treated at a government facility. Both individuals were wanted for multiple cases of robbery and snatching.
