The National Commission for Women (NCW) has stepped in after alarming reports of sexual exploitation emerged from Gujarat's Morbi district. According to reports, a woman and her minor daughter were allegedly exploited by their landlord due to unpaid rent.

NCW Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar took the initiative, writing to the Gujarat chief secretary and police director general, pressing for immediate, unbiased, and prompt action. She emphasized the urgency by demanding a detailed action report within seven days.

The NCW has also asked for information on arrests, investigations, and measures such as legal and medical aid being provided to the victims, stressing the need for protective measures for vulnerable groups.
