In a significant bust, a Punjabi singer was arrested for his involvement in a drug supply network. Police recovered 5 kg of heroin and Rs 1.50 lakh from his possession, authorities confirmed on Monday.
Harbir Singh Sohal, considered a 'courier' in the drug chain, had his vehicle seized. His arrest was linked to a March 7 drug trafficking probe, where another man, Akshay Kumar, was caught with 301 grams of heroin.
Further investigation led to the arrest of other associates. During the questioning, Sohal's connection to an international figure, Gurjant Janta, was revealed. The police continue to delve deeper into this network.
