Transforming Prisons: Yogi Adityanath's Vision for Rehabilitation and Reform

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath declared an ambitious plan to overhaul the state's prisons, aiming to turn them into centers for reform and skill development. Adityanath stressed the need for prisons to go beyond mere confinement. The meeting highlighted expedited processes for premature inmate release and infrastructure projects to alleviate overcrowding.

Highlighting impressive figures, the state saw a decrease in prison overcrowding, thanks to the construction of new prisons. The Chief Minister underscored the necessity of multi-storey facilities, technology-based surveillance, and a focus on skill development and rehabilitation activities, aiming to integrate inmates into society post-release.
