Moscow Authorizes Strikes On Kyiv Amid Rising Tensions
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov informed U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio about Moscow's decision to strike Kyiv sites linked to the Ukrainian military. The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that the strikes are a response to alleged terrorist attacks by the Kyiv regime against Russian civilian areas.
In a significant escalation, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov communicated with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Monday, disclosing Moscow's decision to initiate strikes on Kyiv targets associated with Ukrainian military activities, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported.
According to an official statement on the ministry's website, Lavrov relayed that the military action comes as a reaction to what Moscow describes as ongoing terrorist incursions by Kyiv-directed forces against civilians and infrastructure within Russian borders.
The ministry further elaborated that Russian armed forces are set to embark on systematic attacks on facilities in Kyiv that support Ukraine's military operations, as well as decision-making centers involved in these activities.
