Delhi Race Club Faces Eviction in Landmark High Court Ruling

The Delhi High Court has overturned an earlier suspension of an eviction notice against the Delhi Race Club, a decision initially made by a single judge on April 24.

The decision allows the Centre to move forward with its claims, arguing that the club's occupation is unauthorized due to an expired lease from 1994, impacting the club's occupancy on the 84-acre property in Lutyens' Delhi.

The appeal, led by Chief Justice D K Upadhyaya and Justice Tejas Karia, asserts the need for public utility over the said premises as the basis for its claim.
