The Delhi High Court has approved interim bail for Baramulla MP Sheikh Abdul Rashid, also known as Engineer Rashid, to participate in post-death rituals for his late father. The bail spans June 25 to June 30, facilitating his presence at ceremonies held in Srinagar.

The court mandated that Rashid return to custody on June 2, following the conclusion of his previous bail period, which had been extended to allow him to attend his father's last rites. Rashid's legal team sought an additional extension to accommodate the 40th-day rituals.

Previously arrested in 2019 on terror-funding allegations, Rashid has been in Tihar Jail. The court imposed rigorous conditions for his interim release, including continuous accompaniment by police officials. Charges against him involve serious implications under the Indian Penal Code and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
