In a significant development, Pasunuri Narahari, a key figure in the outlawed CPI (Maoist), has surrendered to the authorities in Telangana.
Known by his alias Vishwanath, Narahari was a Central Committee member and Secretary for the CPI (Maoist) Bihar-Jharkhand Special Area Committee. His surrender marks a severe setback for the Maoist group.
Narahari, originally from Somidi village in Telangana, was accompanied by his wife, Medara Danamma, also a member of the Maoist State Committee. Their surrender adds to the growing number of 264 cadres who have renounced the movement this year.
