In a significant legal development, a local court has sentenced four individuals to life imprisonment for their involvement in the murder of a man nearly 11 years ago. The ruling was delivered by Additional District and Sessions Judge Abhishek Upadhyay on Wednesday.

According to the police, each of the convicts—Gurudayal, Neeraj, Mohit, and Shivkumar—was also fined Rs 28,000. This court decision follows a July 2015 complaint lodged by Rajesh Kumar. He reported that the accused invaded his home and attacked family members using sticks and knives. The altercation resulted in serious injuries to Rajesh's father, Rupram, who succumbed to his injuries during medical treatment.

Initially, the police registered the case under sections related to attempted murder and assault at the TP Nagar police station, but it was later upgraded to murder after Rupram's death. The four accused were apprehended following a thorough investigation by authorities.
