Amit Shah, in a significant move, has issued instructions to uphold a 'zero tolerance' approach towards unlawful constructions within a 15 km radius of India's borders. This directive mandates the demolition of unauthorized structures that have emerged over the years.
During a security review meeting in Bikaner, Shah tasked district magistrates with ensuring the legality of banking transactions in border areas, scrutinizing large businesses, and identifying fraudulent Aadhaar cards. Emphasizing a robust 360-degree security cover in collaboration with the BSF and other agencies, Shah aims to tackle infiltration, smuggling, and other trans-border crimes. He also highlighted the importance of the Vibrant Villages Programme to enhance governance and infrastructure in border regions.
The home ministry has called for thorough investigations into crime networks and drug trafficking sources in Rajasthan's border districts. Amit Shah pushed for the saturation of all government schemes in border areas, with a review slated for two months later to assess progress.
