Muraleedharan Dismisses Claims of Modi-Congress Deal Against CPI(M)

V Muraleedharan, a BJP leader, dismissed as ludicrous allegations that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had collaborated with Congress to target CPI(M). He emphasized that Modi has more pressing priorities than dismantling a regional party with limited influence outside Kerala.

The comments came as the Enforcement Directorate conducted raids on various properties in Kerala related to a money laundering investigation. The case involves alleged illicit payments to Veena T's defunct IT firm by CMRL. The Kerala High Court recently allowed the investigation to proceed, rejecting attempts by the Kerala government and Veena to halt the probe.

The investigation stems from a complaint by the Serious Fraud Investigation Office about questionable transactions under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. Public funds of approximately Rs 2 crore have reportedly been spent on litigation connected to the case, raising further scrutiny.
