The Karnataka State Backward Classes Commission formally delivered its long-awaited socio-economic and educational report to the government amidst swirling political rumors. This report, given into the hands of Chief Secretary Shalini Rajneesh, was finalized in the presence of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, fueling further anticipation about potential political shifts.
Madhusudan R Naik, the Commission Chairman, emphasized that the timing of the submission was coincidental and unrelated to any political upheaval. He clarified the Commission's timeline, noting that while the report was prepared in English, translation into Kannada delayed its submission.
Naik detailed the procedural steps taken to ensure the report's accuracy, including collective reviews and data analysis covering seven crore residents. Although the report is now submitted, Naik stressed that its implementation awaits Cabinet approval and potential legislative action, dismissing speculations about immediate effects.
Despite rumors about upcoming political changes, Naik assured that the Commission operates independently under statutory guidance. He stated the completion of the report was purely a result of logistical timelines rather than any political agendas.
