In Ahmedabad, a businessman from Congo, along with three others who had contact with him, have been placed in isolation amid suspicions of Ebola infection, according to health official Praful Pansheriya. Test results are pending, but officials urge calm as no confirmed cases have emerged.

The 37-year-old traveled to Vadodara after arriving in Mumbai days ago. Though he showed fever symptoms, no Ebola diagnosis has been confirmed, says Pansheriya. Following his admission to Banker Hospital in Vadodara, he was moved to the civil hospital's Ebola ward in Ahmedabad as a preventive measure.

To mitigate risk, two of his companions and another contact have been isolated at different city hospitals. Blood samples from all have been dispatched to Pune for analysis. Officials highlight a previous similar case returned negative, advising against panic while urging vigilance against unfounded rumors.

To further safeguard public health, the Gujarat Health Department has amplified screening efforts for passengers flying in from African nations like Uganda, Congo, and South Sudan, aligning with WHO's ongoing international health directives.
