A joint operation conducted by Delhi's Municipal Corporation and the Public Works Department, with police support, targeted illegal encroachments in the Qutub Institutional Area on Wednesday. The initiative aimed to restore pedestrian paths and clear roadways from unauthorized stalls and structures.

Utilizing heavy machinery, the team dismantled temporary constructions, including sheds and platforms, that had emerged alongside roads and footpaths, causing inconvenience to pedestrians and disrupting traffic. The authorities also removed unlawful extensions near educational institutions and parks, confiscating items from the site.

The MCD emphasized the importance of these drives in maintaining unobstructed public spaces. As South Zone Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Kumar stated, ensuring clear passageways and reclaiming government land remain top priorities for ongoing urban management efforts.
