Rajasthan Police Initiates Intensive Campaign Against Child Labour and Trafficking

Starting June 1, the Rajasthan Police will embark on 'Umang-7', an intensive initiative targeting child labour and human trafficking across the state. This month-long campaign is designed to rescue at-risk children and ensure their rehabilitation, under the directive of Director General of Police, Rajeev Kumar Sharma.

Guided by Additional Director General Hawa Singh Ghumaria, police units statewide have been briefed on specific strategies for the effective execution of this campaign. An additional superintendent of police will serve as the nodal officer in each district, ensuring collaboration with relevant departments and community agencies.

Special teams at district police stations will be formed to conduct inspections in venues like hotels, factories, and religious sites, where child labour is prevalent. These teams, comprising sub-inspectors and other officers, will undergo training to effectively identify and document instances of child exploitation.

Upon discovering cases of trafficking or missing children, police will act swiftly with legal measures. Rescued children will receive medical and psychological support to aid their recovery, ensuring their well-being during and after the rescue operations.
