In a robust action against drug trafficking, Himachal Pradesh Police have frozen Rs 1.13 crore worth of assets belonging to prominent drug dealers within Shimla district. This decisive move follows comprehensive financial scrutiny conducted in two distinct cases, as reported on Wednesday.
During a news briefing, Abhishek Dhiman, Additional Superintendent of Police, revealed that the operations stemmed from investigations in Kumarsain and Kotkhai. In the first case, three individuals from Nepal were detained with about nine kg of opium. Further inquiries led to the apprehension of Laxmi, a Nepalese woman, allegedly caught with two kg of opium, resulting in assets worth Rs 53 lakh being seized. In a separate case, Aryan's involvement as a habitual offender under the PIT NDPS Act prompted the freezing of his assets, which included a newly built two-storey house and a Scorpio vehicle valued at Rs 60 lakh.
