The Bihar government has moved firmly against corruption within its ranks by pursuing departmental proceedings against 14 circle officers in the Revenue and Land Reforms Department, minister Dilip Jaiswal announced on Wednesday.

Jaiswal, speaking to the press in Patna, revealed that some officers have been suspended while others are facing withheld salaries, waiting for the outcome of ongoing proceedings. This decisive action stems from investigation findings and formal charges presented by authorized officials.

Emphasizing the state's commitment to fighting corruption, Jaiswal mentioned, "Strict departmental action has been initiated against 14 circle officers posted in different districts of the state. The NDA government maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption." He also noted that the government is appraising all circle officers statewide, with promises of rewards for those demonstrating exemplary service.

The implicated officers are stationed across various subdivisions, including Patna, Saran, Supaul, Bhagalpur, and Begusarai districts.
