In preparation for the upcoming Eid-Ul-Azha, the Delhi Police has ramped up security measures throughout the capital. The increased security strategy involves deploying extra forces, conducting flag marches, and maintaining a vigilant watch on social media to ensure peace during the celebrations, an official stated on Wednesday.

Special focus is directed towards sensitive zones around Delhi, with comprehensive deployment and coordination exercises actively underway, according to police reports. Northeast District Deputy Commissioner of Police Rahul Alwal highlighted that approximately 1,100 officers, supported by 23 additional companies, are positioned across the district.

Alwal detailed that security personnel will be stationed from 5 am onwards at major prayer sites and sensitive locations near temples. Preparations include identified picket points, Quick Reaction Teams, and increased motorcycle patrols for rapid response to any incidents.

Community engagement has been a key element, with consistent meetings held between ACPs, SHOs, and local community leaders. This dialogue aims to sustain communal harmony during the festival period. Additionally, anti-riot equipment, including standby Vajra vehicles, forms part of the readiness measures. Coordination with municipal and utility services ensures that guidelines against open sacrifices and road waste disposal are strictly observed.
