Three individuals have been apprehended for allegedly defrauding several people under the guise of facilitating Haj pilgrimages, according to police reports.

The case emerged at the Kithore police station, where it was recorded on October 16, 2025. The accused, Jabbar, his wife Najma, and Razia, purportedly amassed about Rs 8.06 lakh from victims, assuring them of arranged pilgrimages. However, they neither organized the trips nor reimbursed the funds. Following a thorough investigation, the trio was detained by authorities.

Jabbar, hailing from Jadauda village, along with his wife and Razia from Rafiq Nagar in Hapur district, now face legal proceedings under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The court has remanded them in 14-day judicial custody after their initial court appearance.
