In Hathras, a tragic incident unfolded when the boundary wall of a primary school collapsed, resulting in the immediate death of one laborer and the subsequent death of another due to injuries. The incident occurred while a drainage system was being constructed adjacent to the wall in Niti Niwas village.
The collapse, which took place around 6.30 pm, trapped three workers under the debris. Locals quickly arrived at the scene to rescue the trapped individuals. Dalchand died on-site, and another worker, Mohit, was critically injured and later died in Agra during treatment. Meanwhile, Sonpal, another trapped worker, is currently recovering in a Bisawar hospital.
Local police and administrative officials promptly responded to the site. Police investigations are ongoing, particularly focusing on the construction activities conducted as part of a gram panchayat project, which may reveal lapses in safety procedures.
