Bangladesh's government has intervened to save a unique albino buffalo named 'Donald Trump' from being sacrificed for Eid, choosing instead to preserve it in Dhaka's national zoo. The animal stands out due to its blond hair, similar to that of the former US president.

Officials swiftly acted to seize the 700-kg buffalo, following a directive that aimed to spare it from the traditional sacrifice planned for Thursday. Its owner, Moniruz Zaman, complied with the request, noting that the government promised either compensation or a replacement animal.

Livestock department's prior assessment suggested the young buffalo had significant longevity potential. Atiqur Rahman, the zoo curator, confirmed arrangements for the buffalo's care have been established.

Previously owned by agro-farm operator Zia Uddin Mridha, the buffalo gained online popularity for its unique appearance, sparking a wave of public curiosity. It had been painstakingly cared for, with multiple daily baths and meals.
