West Bengal has committed over 142 acres to the Border Security Force (BSF), facilitating the construction of outposts and secured fencing along the India-Bangladesh border. This initiative aims to bolster border security and is a segment of the BJP government's plan to designate 600 acres for such enhancements.
Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari shared on social media details of this land transfer, marking an increase in efforts to reinforce border areas against illegal activities. The allocation spans nine districts, including significant transfers in Murshidabad and Jalpaiguri, continuing the first phase begun in May. The proactive measures align with recent policies to expedite fencing efforts and tighten immigration controls.
