Sikkim Police Awarded Distinguished President's Police Colour Honor

At a ceremonial event held at Paljor Stadium, Sikkim Police was honored with the President's Police Colour by Draupadi Murmu. This prestigious accolade, known as 'Nishaan', is awarded in recognition of exceptional service and bravery.

Being the 15th state in India and the third in the northeast to receive this honor, Sikkim Police can now display a unique emblem on their uniforms. Murmu emphasized the need for a shift in police approach, advocating for a partnership with citizens to foster trust. She also urged the force to enhance their technological capabilities to tackle challenges such as cybercrime.

Sikkim's Chief Minister, Prem Singh Tamang, expressed great pride in the recognition, highlighting the police's dedication and professionalism in maintaining peace and order. The award, according to Tamang, underscores the force's commitment to integrity and service.

The distinction not only celebrates past achievements but also serves as a motivation for Sikkim Police to continue their efforts in ensuring safety and security within the state.
