Two Alleged ULFA-I Members Detained in Unnao

Authorities in Uttar Pradesh have detained two men suspected of having affiliations with the banned United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I). The arrests in Unnao were driven by ongoing investigations into local connections and potential hideouts.

The individuals, identified as Noor Mohammad from Saharanpur and Mohammad Subhan from Kanpur, had reportedly been living undercover in Unnao's Budhwari area for around six months. While in hiding, they allegedly engaged in activities related to raising funds for ULFA-I, prompting legal action under anti-terror laws.

A collaborative effort by Assam Police, local law enforcement, and surveillance teams led to their capture. The duo has since been handed over to Assam Police as legal procedures unfolded. Investigators are now keenly probing who might have aided their stay in Unnao and the specifics of their regional ties.
