Proposal for USD 250 Bill Featuring Trump Advances in US Treasury

U.S. Treasury officials are considering a USD 250 note featuring Donald Trump, pending Congressional approval. Plans are part of America's 250th anniversary celebrations. The proposal challenges existing law that restricts currency depictions to deceased individuals. Preparations and designs for the note are underway should legislation pass.

Officials within the U.S. Treasury are reportedly advancing a proposal to introduce a new USD 250 currency note bearing the likeness of former President Donald Trump. This move is contingent upon obtaining Congressional approval, according to recent media sources. The initiative is in the context of celebrating the United States' 250th anniversary.

Current federal law stipulates that only deceased persons can appear on currency, requiring new legislation for Trump's image to be used. U.S. Treasurer Brandon Beach is said to have engaged the Bureau of Engraving and Printing to develop prototypes, and design consultations reportedly included Trump himself. Amidst this, a corresponding legislative proposal exists in Congress.

Furthermore, the concept aligns with other grand plans for the sestercentennial, including a gold coin featuring Trump. The potential currency note has sparked conversation about legality and tradition, as no living person has been featured on U.S. paper currency since the mid-1800s.
