Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut has rebuked the central government over the proposal to deploy the Indian Air Force for transporting NEET-UG exam papers. He argues that resorting to such measures indicates a failure in governance.
Raut highlighted that the military should not be used for covering up the 'incompetence' of the National Testing Agency and the education ministry. He questioned why defense personnel need to be involved in basic exam logistics, suggesting this underscores systemic issues that need addressing. The government met to discuss using the Air Force to secure the retest process following the paper leak scandal. Although meetings have been conducted, no final decision has been reached.
The leadership, including Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, deliberated the matter. A re-examination is planned for June 21, yet the measures for ensuring its integrity are still under review, pending a decision from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
