Rahul Gandhi has criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his silence regarding irregularities in the CBSE's handling of exam contracts. Gandhi accused Modi of being more concerned with the survival of his government than the future of students.
The controversy centers on allegations that the CBSE lowered technical standards in its request for proposals, allowing COEMPT to win the contract for an on-screen marking system despite its history of failures. Gandhi called for an independent judicial probe to uncover the truth behind the decision processes.
Congress leader Jairam Ramesh supported these claims, highlighting concerns about reduced scanning resolution and dropped requirements for robotic scanners, among other issues. He stressed the need for CBSE transparency and questioned whether political pressures led to COEMPT securing the contract. Both Gandhi and Ramesh demand clearer accountability from the Modi administration.
