In a significant diplomatic move, Pakistan's Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar engaged with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in discussions on Friday. This meeting takes place as the United States and Iran appear near reaching an agreement to resolve a prolonged three-month conflict.
The talks underscore Pakistan's emerging role as a mediator in Middle Eastern conflicts, despite its lack of official diplomatic ties with Israel. During his visit to New York, Dar was invited by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to participate in a UN Security Council debate centered on international peace and security, happening under China's leadership.
This high-level meeting follows the recent Quad foreign ministers' gathering in New Delhi, hosted by India's External Affairs Minister, emphasizing Pakistan's active involvement in global diplomatic efforts.
