A security mishap on the CBSE revaluation portal saw about 50 students gain unauthorized entry, as revealed by government sources. The breach disrupted payment displays, causing fees to be unusually high in some instances, ranging from Re 1 to as much as Rs 67,000-68,000.
The issue is believed to be connected to the HDFC payment gateway integrated with the system, which malfunctioned when the portal went live. IIT experts are collaborating with the Digital Infrastructure Corporation of India to enhance the site's defenses.
Four public sector banks, including State Bank of India and Canara Bank, are aiding in strengthening the payment gateway. Recent talks between Pradhan and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman addressed the technical glitches. The system has since transitioned to Amazon Web Services to improve operational capacity.
The education ministry confirmed efforts to resolve these infrastructure issues, aiming for seamless integration and better functionality of the portal.
