Myanmar Leader Visits Mahabodhi Temple to Strengthen India Ties

Myanmar's President Aung Hlaing visited the revered Mahabodhi Temple in Bihar, marking a significant cultural engagement during his visit to India. The temple, a Unesco World Heritage site, is one of Buddhism's holiest sites, underscoring the historical connection between the two nations.

Accompanied by a delegation that included cabinet ministers and business figures, Aung Hlaing was warmly greeted with a traditional Guard of Honour. Officials highlighted the visit as an important occasion to deepen cultural and spiritual ties. This five-day visit is also focused on enhancing cooperation in trade, connectivity, and defence.

During his stay, Aung Hlaing is scheduled to meet with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for discussions on bilateral collaborations. Alongside spiritual and cultural exchanges, their agenda includes participation in a business forum aimed at strengthening economic ties between the neighboring countries.

After the Bihar visit, the Myanmarese President plans to head to Mumbai to engage with business leaders and explore further opportunities to boost industry collaborations, demonstrating a commitment to fostering multilateral relations.
