Charges Filed Over Fatal Hamirpur Bridge Collapse

Legal action has been initiated against the firm and the contractor responsible for the construction of the Betwa river bridge in Hamirpur, where a deadly collapse occurred, killing six workers. Accusations of negligence in the handling of government work have been made, according to police reports.
The incident happened in the early hours while workers were sleeping on a slab that collapsed during a heavy storm. Emergency measures cleared the debris and an official investigation has been launched. Operations have been halted, and the labourers have returned to their homes, their safety assured.
Six victims met a tragic end, originating from Banda and Hamirpur districts. The bodies were returned to their families, while the Chief Minister pledged financial aid to the bereaved and injured. The case is being closely monitored as further investigations unfold.
