Amit Shah has expressed grave concerns over the demographic changes occurring in India's border areas, labeling these developments as a critical challenge for the nation. During a security assessment meeting in Bhuj, located in Gujarat's Kutch district, Shah stressed the importance of closely monitoring and reporting any changes in these regions.

Shah urged district administrations to implement standard operating procedures aimed at identifying and tracking illegal infiltrators, as well as addressing potential threats from drones and narcotics. He emphasized a zero-tolerance stance on unauthorized intrusions within the border's vicinity, urging cooperation among various security and financial agencies to counter illicit activities.

The home ministry has formed a high-level committee to evaluate demographic shifts occurring due to illegal immigration and other factors, proposing solutions to combat these issues. In his address, Shah also highlighted the benefits of reverse migration resulting from industrial developments in these areas and called for efforts to ensure the deportation of illegal infiltrators.

Shah also underscored the necessity of stronger coastal security measures in collaboration with the Indian Coast Guard, considering the proximity of Kutch to the International Maritime Boundary Line. The meeting counted on the presence of officials including Gujarat's Chief Minister and district authorities to ensure comprehensive security measures.
