Amid intense summer heat in Jalna district, activist Manoj Jarange has once again embarked on an indefinite hunger strike. This marks his ninth protest in three years as he advocates for the Maratha community's quota demands.

Government officials have offered a 12-point proposal in response. However, Jarange states that his legal team will scrutinize this proposal before making any decisions on the continuation of his protest. Meanwhile, Maratha community members remain vigilant, staging protests to support Jarange's cause.

The core issues include the issuance of Kunbi caste certificates, the enforcement of historical records, and the establishment of a dedicated ministry for Marathas. Despite government efforts to address these concerns, Jarange remains steadfast in his demand for swift action and warns against putting the community through trials.

State minister Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil has discussed the proposal with Jarange, asking him to consider his health and sit in the shade. The government is working toward resolving challenges, but Jarange insists on comprehensive study before any suspension of the strike.
