Gulveer Singh has etched his name in history as the first Indian to complete a mile race in under four minutes. This extraordinary achievement occurred at the 24th Annual Music City Track Carnival held at Lee University in Cleveland, USA, part of the World Athletics Continental Tour Challenger series.

Sustaining his impressive form, the 27-year-old, who previously earned an Asian Games bronze in the men's 10,000 meters, won the 1 Mile Pro event with a remarkable time of 3:55.63. Compatriots Christopher Knight and Tristan Trevino, both from the USA, finished second and third, respectively.

Singh's accomplishment in the mile follows his past triumphs, including being the first Indian to conquer the 13-minute barrier in the 5,000-meter track race. His indoor 5,000-meter national record stands at 12:59.77, established last year in the USA. Additionally, he holds the Indian national track record for the men's 10,000-meter with a time of 27:00.22.
