The final phase of the panchayat elections in Himachal Pradesh concluded with a remarkable 81 percent voter turnout, significantly bolstered by female participation. Across nine districts, women voters outnumbered men, recording an impressive 83.64 percent turnout compared to 77.77 percent among men.
This election phase, conducted under challenging weather, underscores the strong commitment to democratic processes at the grassroots level. The Shimla Met office had previously predicted rain until June 4, yet the voters' determination remained unwavering. A particularly high turnout was noted in Sirmaur's Dadahu block, reaching 95 percent. Officials praised the peaceful conduct of the elections, with results set to be announced soon.
