Vice President C P Radhakrishnan highlighted the importance of focusing on positive news and achievements to prevent the youth from being drawn to negative sensationalism. He spoke about the need for constructive journalism while addressing a gathering at the 140th anniversary of the Malayalam daily, Deepika.
Radhakrishnan criticized the disproportionate attention given to certain issues and warned that failing to report on positive developments could lead young people astray. He mentioned the recent social media surge by the Cockroach Janata Party, using it to exemplify fleeting trends that distract from meaningful content.
The Vice President called for news that highlights valuable societal contributions, which, in his view, help build public confidence and contribute to nation-building. He praised Deepika for its role in advancing social harmony and education, encouraging the media to motivate citizens towards national development.
