Following the viral success of the satirical 'Cockroach Janata Party', Deepak Sharma, a social activist from Uttar Pradesh, has established the Common Justice Platform. This new movement aims to raise awareness about the negligence towards the polluted Yamuna River through unconventional methods.
Sharma, who became known as the 'cockroach man' after donning a cockroach costume, said he received a call from the Mathura municipal commissioner's office regarding the Yamuna pollution. Yet, he invited the officials to witness the issue firsthand at Keshi Ghat. The movement has already attracted around 800 volunteers, who brandish cockroach-themed ID cards as a symbol of resistance against systemic neglect. Despite some criticism, Sharma insists that the platform's mission is apolitical and focused on reforming the system for a cleaner environment.
