Bridge Collapse in Uttar Pradesh Claims Six Lives
A tragic incident in Uttar Pradesh's Hamirpur district saw an under-construction bridge collapse, resulting in six fatalities and three injuries. This occurred amidst a storm over the Betwa river. Rescue operations are underway as officials assess the situation and ensure no more workers are trapped.

An under-construction bridge over the Betwa River in Hamirpur district, Uttar Pradesh, collapsed early Friday, tragically resulting in the deaths of six construction workers. The collapse followed a fierce storm, causing part of the structure to give way between Parsani and Kandaur villages.
According to local officials, the workers were resting on the newly built section of the bridge when it unexpectedly gave in around 3 am. Authorities have identified the deceased as Lokendra, Kuldeep Nishad, Sawant Yadav, Sabhajeet, Pushpendra Chauhan, and Rajesh Pal.
Three injured workers were promptly taken to Hamirpur's district hospital for care. Meanwhile, rescue teams, along with the Lalpura police, are focused on clearing debris to ensure no more laborers remain beneath the rubble.
